Global Goals

The 17 Global Goals on Sustainable Development are a guiding framework and driving force for Quantified Planet as an non profit organization, community member, partner and service provider.

Data innovation contributes to achieving the goals. Quantified Planet focuses on Goal 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities, Goal 15 Life on Land, and Goal 17 Partnerships for the Goals.

Goal 15: Life on Land

Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

We focus on Target 11.6, to minimize the environmental impact of cities by paying special attention to air quality and waste management.

Case: Just how healthy are urban areas in Swedish cities? As part of the Global Goals Lab Testbed, during 2017, the Quantified Planet toured 11 Swedish cities with a bike and trolley loaded with sensors to collect data about the quality of air, light and sound levels. This data will give us an indication about how healthy are urban areas.

Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

Reaching Target 15.5 to take urgent and significant action to reduce the degradation of natural habitats, halt the loss of biodiversity and, by 2020, protect and prevent the extinction of threatened species is the main focus of the Planet 15 project.

Goal 17: Partnerships For The Goals

Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

We work to achieve Target 17.6, Knowledge sharing and cooperation for access to science, technology and innovation. With the Global Goals Lab, we encourage co-development and innovation among different members by data driven projects.
